How does the Trusted Friends function work?

The Trusted Friends function allows a user to invite three or more people who LegacyApp will contact if a user stops responding to the app's ("Are you OK?") notifications. If a user enables the Trusted Friends function, at least two Trusted Friends must confirm (by clicking on an email or SMS which LegacyApp sends them) that the user is not OK before LegacyApp will allow the beneficiary to access the user's notes in LegacyApp.  

For example, let's imagine a LegacyApp user named Bob. Bob has set the LegacyApp check-in notification period to two week. This means that every two weeks LegacyApp prompts Bob to confirm that he's okay.

If Bob fails to respond to LegacyApp's notifications over two consecutive check-in periods (which is four weeks in total), LegacyApp will contact Bob's Trusted Friends (by email or SMS) with a simple question: "Is Bob okay?". Each of Bob's Trusted Friends will have the option to reply "YES" or "NO".

If at least two Trusted Friends respond that Bob isn't okay, LegacyApp will initiate the process to give Bob's beneficiary access to Bob's LegacyApp notes.

LegacyApp will not share the identity of Bob's Beneficiary with Bob's Trusted Friends, and neither will Bob's beneficiary be told who his Trusted Friends are. A user may of course wish to make sure their Beneficiary and Trusted Friends know about each other. Additionally, a user may want to consider listing their beneficiary as a Trusted Friend - but this is entirely optional and may not be appropriate for everyone.
